I grew up in rural north-central Pennsylvania as an unsaved kid, and in 1984 joined the Army in search of a way out of a small town that truly had little to offer. A few years later I met my wife Kim while I was on leave, and we were married shortly thereafter. We started a family early in our marriage, and while assigned at Fort Bragg, NC, we made a family decision to get involved in a local church. I remember that I was both intimidated and uncomfortable stepping into the church building, but also remember that I wanted to “do right” by my family. In January of 1997 I understood that “doing right” was good, but wasn’t good enough, and it was then that I believed that Jesus is the only Way to be saved.
I retired from the Army in 2010, and have since been blessed to work on the staff of Lakeside Baptist Church, ministering to the Soldiers at Fort Gordon, as well as to the local community.
Many churches say this, but THIS is truly the friendliest church that I’ve been affiliated with! Visit Lakeside and see for yourself.
